With more than 30 years of architectural experience in design and construction, I have successfully led a diverse range of projects throughout the Southeast. My portfolio includes institutional facilities, interior tenant improvements, arenas, libraries, higher education, and commercial construction with expertise in K-12 educational buildings, and high-end custom residences.
I am a licensed and registered architect in both Georgia and South Carolina and hold LEED BD+C accreditation. My firm is currently pursuing Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) certification.
My expertise encompasses every phase of the building process, from programming and planning through design, construction documentation, and construction administration. I provide comprehensive architectural and interior planning services tailored to each client's unique needs and objectives.
As a project manager, I am committed to balancing budget, schedule, and project goals while maintaining a strong focus on design excellence, sustainability, and environmental responsibility. My approach emphasizes collaboration, attention to detail, and delivering successful projects that meet both functional and aesthetic objectives.
Residential Design
Since relocating from Atlanta to Bluffton in 2016, I have had the privilege of designing custom residences in some of Beaufort County’s most beautiful and distinctive communities. Most planned neighborhoods in the Lowcountry have numerous regulations and design guidelines that require multiple design review board approvals. Often, there is a standard architectural language that needs to be followed. My designs are unique, adaptable, and are designed to meet with every owner's lifestyle, budget and design review board approval.
Inspired by mid-century modern design, clean architectural forms, saltbox influences, and efficient floor planning, I have developed a design philosophy I call "Modern Lowcountry." This style blends contemporary simplicity with the character and traditions of Lowcountry architecture.
I enjoy collaborating closely with clients throughout the entire design process to create homes that function seamlessly for the way they live. By asking thoughtful questions and focusing on spatial relationships, functionality, and detail, I provide a highly personalized design experience that transforms your goals and aspirations into a home that is both beautiful and enduring.
Educational Design and Planning
My passion for education began in high school while working for a school district in New York. I found great fulfillment in working with students and quickly realized that my interests in both art and mathematics could be combined through a career in architecture.
After earning my architecture degree from Virginia Tech, I devoted my thesis year to a project titled "Redefining Elementary Architecture," which explored how educational environments can better support teaching and learning. During my research, I was particularly inspired by the philosophy and innovative approach of Perkins &Will, a nationally recognized leader in educational design.
Several years later, I had the opportunity to join Perkins &Will in Atlanta, where I collaborated with a talented team of planners, programmers, and designers on a wide range of educational projects. Throughout my career, I have successfully completed projects for both public and private clients, ranging from small classroom additions and historic renovations to state-of-the-art educational facilities exceeding 250,000 square feet and comprehensive campus master plans.
